Summer Mini Catalogue Projects #2

I've made a double 12" x 12" scrapbook page with photos of Heidi & Aaron at their wedding. I love these photos. I made these pages a couple of weeks ago & only got around to photographing them now.
The Presto Patterns pages are white to start with, with little raised patterns on them. You can sponge or brayer them with ink, or you can spritz them. I've sponged these pages with Baja Breeze ink. Don't you just love the light & dark effect of the sponging. If you blow up the pages you can just see I have spritzed the pages with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.

Summer Mini Catalogue
I've used the Presto Patterns Speacialty DSP & the Smooch Spritz Gold Glow both on page 10 of the Summer Mini Catalogue.Idea Book & Catalogue
Ive used the Baja Breeze Ink pad page 119, Stampin Sponges page 143, Tempting Turquoise Cardstock page 118, Whisper White Cardstock page 121, Embosslits Beautiful Wings page 151 of the Idea Book & Catalogue.

Update on Colour Palette #19

Hi. Sorry, I've been out of action for a while. So busy at work & working long hours!! We had a well earned rest, flying to Western Australia to visit our daughter & son-in-law, for just over a week. When we came back to work, it only took about 5 mins to get back into the swing of things & get stressed !! LOL !!

I have made a double page for Colour Palette #19. I made it a few weeks ago, but I haven't taken a photo of it until now.

The journalling reads:
You are different in so many ways: likes & dislikes; personality & character; nature & temperament. Your strengths have taken in very different directions.
Yet you have so many similarities: you are strong & independent; determined & passionate; adventurous & courageous; loving & caring. I am so proud of the wonderful women you have become.
Thanks for looking. Be back soon.

Colour Palette #19

Here is the colour palette for this week. This is more my style.

I am loving the Color Room. I love the colour palettes & the sketches. They help me to decide which colours to use & how to layout the page. It's wonderful. I normally take a long time to decide how to do the page. With the decision made for me, I only need to choose the photo!!

Here is my page.

Double page to come!!

Father's Day shirt cards

I have made these cute Father's Day shirt cards. They were made with Stampin'Up! Windsor Knot Designer Series Paper, with Whisper White card stock on the inside, so you can stamp or write your sentiment on. Made with a single sheet of double sided patterned paper. The tie was cut separately.
You could also use them as a male birthday card.

If you would like to know how to make this card, book a workshop with me & I will show you how.

Colour Palette #18

Here is the colour palette for this week for The Color Room. These colours were a real challenge for me. I am used to doing 'girly' pages, with lots of subtle or heritage colours, flowers & flourishes. These colours were brighter than I'm used to & I couldn't find much in my stash to match these colours.

Here is my page for this week. The photo is of my two handsome nephews, Jonty & Gabe.

As you know I like to do a double page & here it is.

Color Palette #17 - The Color Room

Here is the colour palette & sketch for this week.

& here is my page for this week. The photo is of Brianna & Andy at their engagement party in April.

I used the Color Spritzer Tool & markers to spray colour onto the vanilla card first. I stamped the white heart with the Razzle Dazzle flower & heat embossed it.

I have used vine twig & flower soft for the branches & the Little Leaves & the Big Shot for the leaves. The large flowers were hand made with white card & the scallop circle punch. I inked them with Lavender Lace & Cameo Coral. The small flowers were inked with markers & a blender pen. The title was die cut from Brushed Copper Metallic card.

Below are photos of the details of the flowers.

The Color Room

I have just joined the Color Room last week. My first submission was for the Color Palette for this week. It was due today. Here is my layout.

The Color Room has lots of talented people from all over the world & lots of gorgeous layouts. Click the link at right to go to the Color Room. Have a look at the sketches & colour palettes. They may give you some ideas for layouts.

This is the colour palette & sketch for last week. I love these sketches & colour palettes. I normally do a lot of thinking & planning (& procrastinating). It normally takes me a couple of days to do one page. With the sketches & colour palette in place I just needed to choose the photo. It all came together in a few hours.

I normally do a double page layout. I like my pages to match or at least not to clash. This is the double layout below.

These are some photos of the detail of the leaves. I used the Big Shot with the Leaves #2 die. I then curled them & inked them. Lastly I added some crystal effects to look something like rain droplets.

Fundraiser Crop Day

I went to a fundraiser crop day last Sunday. Cassie was raising money to bring a couple of girls out from Timor to Newcastle to have life saving surgery on their facial tumors. See the link below to Cassie's blog for all the details. We had a slide show of the situation in Timor. It was so sad to see the conditions they have to endure.

Here is the Scrapbook page I made on the day. The photos are of Heidi & Aaron's wedding in March. The photo on the left is of our two beautiful daughers Heidi & Brianna.

I only made one double page. I was chatting to so many people & I ate so much. I think we all enjoyed ourselves, it was such a fun day.

I taught a few classes in the afternoon. We made a gift card holder below (copyright to others). It takes a credit card size plastic gift card, or some notes, or business cards.

The animal stamps are from the Fox & Friends. The sentiments are from Picture This hostess set. The branch is from the Two Step Bird Punch. All of these items are available from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue available until 31 August.

More Books

I have finished the bookbinding course. It was very interesting & creative.
Here is an A5 photo album that I made in the course. This is an A5 landscape photo album with black card pages & glassine dividers covering the photos. It has bookcloth covering the spine with oriental stitching to bind the album together. I have used the Stampin'Up! Big Shot & Sizzix Little Leaves, the Stampin'Up! 5 Petal Flower Punch & the Boho Blossoms Punch to decorate the cover.

Here is a single section A5 notebook. It has pamphlet stitching to stitch the section together & a hardcover with bookcloth on the spine to make the hinge stronger. I have used the Stampin'Up! Big Shot & Sizzix Little Leaves to put under the paper covering the hardcover. You can just see the shape of the leaves coming through the paper.

This is is the book I restored. It was a picture book of Taronga Park Zoo circa 1960. It has a hardcover covered with bookcloth. It has a hard spine with headbands on the top & bottom of the spine. I have used the Stampin'Up! Big Shot & Leaves #2 & stuck them on under the bookcloth.

Close up of headbands. The headbands protect the ends of the books spine. Most hardcover books have headbands.

Bookbinding Course

I've been doing a bookbinding course in Sydney for the past few weeks. It has been fascinating to see how a book goes together & how someone repairs an old book with torn pages.

Here is my first book. It's a soft cover journal, with oriental stitching.

I've been really enjoying the course. Not the travelling though!!

Have a look my bookbinding page.

Heidi & Aaron's Wedding

Heidi & Aaron were married in March on Zenith Beach Port Stephens. It was a beautiful, sunny, relaxing day on the beach. Just what they wanted.
Here are some of the photos.
The only problem is that I have to choose which photos to scrap. They are all gorgeous. I'll be scrapping for years.

And then Brianna & Andy are getting married next year, & then I'll have more photos to scrap!!!!
